Leigh Harriers Throws Squad Produce An Amazing 15 Personal Best Performances In One Weekend

15 Personal Best Performances and 18 medals between 7 Leigh Harriers throwers were gained this weekend at Wrexham’s Final Fling Throws Meeting to end a great season of throws.

Lewis Forster gained 1 gold medal in the U15 boys Javelin with a new pesonal best throw of 39.37m and 2 bronze medals for Discus with a throw and PB of 26.97m, PB in the Hammer Throw with 28.61m, PB in Shot with 7.91m plus a bronze for the meetings throwathon with 1773 points.

Jess Arnison had a great series of throws in the U17 ladies Hammer with 44.81m to gain Silver, Personal best throws in Shot gaining a bronze medal with 9.06m, Javelin with 23.06m and Discus with 18.29m. Jess also came 3rd in the Throwathon collecting another bronze medal with 1717 points.

Freya Millener ended her first season with 3 personal best perfomances in Hammer with 27.42m, Shot 7.43m, Discus 21.40m and 29.43m in the Javelin. She also came 5th in the throwathon with 1497 points

Em Lewtas gained 5 personal best performances in the U20 ladies Javelin with 29.90m, PB in U17 ladies Javelin with 31.98m, PB in Hammer with 30.01m, PB in Shot with 8.78m and PB in Discus with 17.57m. She also came 4th in the throwathon with 1588 points.

Josh Knox in the U17 Men also had a good weekend with 1 gold and 3 silver medals. He gained a personal best performance in his main event the Discus with 39.11m, came 2nd in the Shot with 11.61m, 2nd in the Javelin with 39.36m and threw 35.46m in the Hammer. He also collected another silver medal in the throwathon with 2272 points.

Our Veteran throwers Wayne and Pete Todd also had a good weekend with Wayne collecting 1 gold and 2 silver medals in the V40 category with 47.46m in the Javelin, 10.56m in the Shot and 27.05m in the Discus.

Pete collected a total of 4 gold medals for Javelin with 34.46m, Hammer 28.39m, Discus with 36.84m and gaining 1953 points in the throwathon. His silver medal was  in the Shot with 10.56m.
